Voluntary Work in Chile

"There is a lot to Chile - arid deserts, snow-capped mountain ranges peppered with lakes, hills covered with lush forest and a myriad of islands in the far south."

To live in Chile

Chile is unique - a ribbon of land with a huge variety of climates and landscapes. It has arid deserts, snow-capped mountains, hills covered with lush forest and a myriad of islands.

Chilean history is scattered with famous and infamous names, Bolivar, Allende and Pinochet, and they all had their impact on Chilean society. The country has pre-Hispanic influences as well. To master the intricacies of Chile's politics and history you need to sit down with a Chilean, who will undoubtedly have strong views on how his country has been shaped.

Teaching & Projects Abroad 's placements and office are in southernmost Patagonia. Punta Arenas, the most southern city on Earth, is our base. It is a centre for fishing and tourism. We also have conservation placements on some of the islands such as Isla Navarino with its delicate Antarctic environment.

Chile is a fascinating place to visit with attractions for everyone. There are great churches and cathedrals. The opportunity to go bird spotting off Tierra del Fuego is not to be missed. For the more adventurous there are chances to go skiing, sea kayaking or white water rafting. Chile has many opportunities on offer.
